ShortcodeTracker is plugin ment for Piwik. Basically it allows you to change Piwik instance into fully functional URL shortener.
Apart from creating shortened URLs and performing redirects afterwads, it also collects statistics of redirect usage.
Extra feature of this plugin is also integration with Piwik UI – you can generate shortened URL with just one click when browsing your Actions report.
Of course there is also possibility to shorten any URL you want and redirect to it.

Here’s a TL;DR list of ShortcodeTracker features:

  • shorten URLs
  • preform redirects based upon stored URLs
  • integration with Piwik UI allowing to generate shortcodes based on page URLs tracked with Piwik
  • basic statistics of shortcodes usage

Getting started

Unfortunately advanced functionality like redirects requires a bit more complex setup from end user, so please reffer to plugin readme.

Plugin itself can be downloaded from Github page or Piwik plugin market .

  1. Hello, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your website in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, very good
    blog!

  2. Hi. The plugin doesn’t work with Piwik 3.0.1 anymore and unfortunately even before the update I was just able to add / short links but the analytic (statistic) functionality didn’t work at all. Any thoughts or ideas how to fix this?
